Enjoy this enchanting selection of work that was sent to us all the way from South Africa, via our friend, Stacey Rozen of Johannesburg, a past recipient of the Women’s International Study Center fellowship at the Acequia Madre House in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
From Imaginate’s founder Gill Haggis:
“Stacey’s gorgeous gift of the Blue Dog calendar was the inspiration for our study of George’s life and work. As I put a slideshow together for my artists I came across Wendy’s wonderful writing and was able to include so many delightful details (that children relish and remember) as I talked them through the pictures. They loved learning about George and experimenting with acrylic paints to create their own dogs in his style.”

In the video below, Artist and Craftivist Stacey Rozen finds inspiration in the art of George Rodrigue during her conceived “Heartist” community project as a Women’s International Study Center fellow at the Acequia Madre House in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This art adventure also includes members of the Santa Fe creative community.
