Alexandria! It was a whirlwind 48 hours, and a real joy! We enjoyed greatly visiting this week at the Tioga Junior High and Elementary Schools, the Peabody Montessori Elementary School, and with students from several schools gathered together at the Lafargue Education Center.
Thank you to Morgan Kee of the Rapides Parish Lafargue Special Education Center who arranged for this outreach and assisted us throughout, and to Heather Parker of the Life & Legacy Foundation and Art Tour, who worked with Morgan on the tour details so that all went smoothly. It did!
Also, a huge thank you to the teachers, administrators, and students who supported this initiative and prepared with Rodrigue-inspired projects! It was a fantastic experience all around!

We look forward to seeing you all again in 2025 when the exhibition The River is the Road: Paintings by George Rodrigue opens at the Alexandria Museum of Art, including tours for area schools, public lectures, and more.
