Rodrigue’s 1971
“Miss July 4th of Carencro, Louisiana”

Sep 19, 2023: George Rodrigue’s Cajun Series paintings play an important role in the exhibition George Rodrigue: Painting for Myself on view through January 2, 2024 at the Museum of New Art in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Afterwards, the exhibition travels to the Bayou Teche Museum in George’s hometown of New Iberia, Louisiana, in celebration of his 80th birthday, March 13, 2024.

Join Wendy Rodrigue for the history of one of Rodrigue’s earliest paintings with people, Miss July 4th of Carencro, Louisiana, recently restored, and filmed this week by Douglas Magnus within the exhibition.

These exhibitions and films are brought to you by the Life & Legacy Foundation and Art Tour, a 501(c)(3) non-profit established in 2017 by Wendy Rodrigue, in honor of her late husband, George Rodrigue.
